what is a storage device? allows storage of data for use later, which can be internal or external storage.
ROM is a permanent internal memory inside the computer system.
RAM is a temporary memory that is designed to hold new data and is only available while the computer is turned on.
Sound Card allows the input of sound into the computer
Pixal is a single colored square thats in the computer screen.
hard disk drive holds an large amount of information and is significant in the purchasing decisions of a new computer system.
USB drive/flash drives this is a mobile storage device that can be plugged into the usb drive that has its own memory and can be used in more than one computer.
CD-R allows the user to to record data once for storage purposes; compact disk. once the information is recored it can not be edited.
Firewire provides a very fast connection to transfer large amount of data quickly.
Keyguards are hard plastic covers with holes for each key on the keyboard.
input devices allows you to enter data into the computer system.
touch pads/ trackballs these are your built in mouses on laptops computers so that you can scroll on the computer.
kilobytes/megabytes/gigabytes computer memory that is measured in the amount of information that it can hold.
control unit retrieves the instructions and sends command signals to the rest of the computer systems to tell them what to do.
memory unit allows the storage of information, is internal to the computer and is divided into two types of memory: RAM and ROM
