CPU is the brain of the computer.
BIOS wakes up the computer and remind it what to do.
Power Supply gets electricity to the motherboard.
Hard Drive information in the computer is stored on the magnetic cylinders.
Modem is the thingy that lets computers chat
ROM has a very good memory. Can read but cannot write.
Video Card handles the graphics that are displayed on the monitor.
Motherboard holds all the other circut boards.
RAM can read and write.
Port other hardware, like the keyboard or monitor, plugs into it.
Power Plug one plug is the used to provide power in the computer and provide power out to the monitor.
Parallel Port (printer connector) an electrical connnector used to send informaton on wires at the same time.
Network Interface Card (NIC) an ethernet cable connector.
Serial Port used to connect older or specialized devices to the system.Used to send parts of a message. Example: barcode scanner
Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an external bus that transfers Mbps.
