| Personal Computer | A PC that comes with a moniter, mouse and keyboard. |
| Hardware | All attached equipedment. EXAMPLE: CD Drive; Mouse |
| Software | Set of instructions for the computer that has the ability to change or create data. |
| Moniter | Display screen. |
| Mouse | An input device. It moves the curser on the moniter. |
| Keyboard | The is a set of keys or buttons that are used to put info instructions to a computer. |
| Hard Drive | It is the primary storage unit of the computer, and its stored magneticly. |
| CDROM | CD:Compact Disc ROM:Read Only Memory |
| CDROM Drive | Small box that lets the computer read the CD. |
| Data | Pieces of info that software can change. (#'s, letters, etc.) |
| Program | Another word for software. It is a list of instructions. |
| Operating System | Tells programs what to do. |
| BIOS | Basic Input/Output System. Wakes up the computer. |
| Motherboard | Holds it all together. |
| CPU | CPU: Central Prossecing Unit. Brain of the computer. It gets very hot. |
| RAM | Random Access Memory: Reads and writes |
| ROM | Read Only Memory: ONLY reads |
| Power Supply | Gives electricity to computer. |
| Modem | Connects computers to each other. |
| Port | Hardware plugs into it. |
| Video Card | Alows graphics to be displayed on the monitor. |
