Verb, Adverb, Preposition, Conjunction, and Interjection

| Verb | a word used to express action or a state of being |
| Helping and Main verbs | a helping verb helps the main verb express action ex: will express (will helping, express main) |
| Action Verbs | expresses either physical or mental activity |
| Linking Verbs | connects the subject to a word |
| Transitive Verbs | expresses an action directed toward to a noun |
| Intransitive Verbs | expresses action without the action passing to a reciever or object |
| Adverb | word that modifies a verb, and adjective or another adverb |
| Adjective or Adverb examples | Adjective + ly = Adverb bright + ly = brightly loud + ly + loudly |
| Preposition | shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun |
| Commonly Used Prepostions | aboard ; before ; during ; except ; for ; in ; like ; near ; off ; past ; since ; through ; under ; until ; without |
| Conjuction | join words or groups of words |
| Coordinating Conjuction | For And Nor But Or Yet So = FANBOYS |
| Correlative Conjunctions | both...and either...or neither...nor whether...or not only...but also |
