When identifying problems to be solved by the PSP, consider the following: Terrorism, Vandalism, Theft History; Break-in History for the area; Likely Intruder Target; Employee Health & Safety Issues; Past Fraud; Protective Force Levels; Problems Identifying Persons Entering Facility; Surveillance Issues; Information Losses.
Objectives must be stated clearly and SMART. Specific; Measurable; Aggresive but Achievable; Realistic; & Time Bounded.
After naming problems to be solved, consider the following options in any combination as part of resolution: Lighting; Barriers, fencing, gates; Perimeter detection systems; Building alarm systems; Locks & doors; CCTV and recording systems; Access Control Systems; Protective posts/staffing; Centralized monitoring; Policies, procedures, training.
