Plot Sequence of events
Explosition All background information is given setting and main character are inducted

Rising action All the events leading to the climax
Climax Most exciting part of the story; turning point
Falling Action All of the events leading to the conclusion or end of the story
Conclusion The End
Narrator A person who tells the story
Tone Narrator/Author attitude toward the story
Point of View How the story was told the relationship between the narrator and the reader
1st person The narrator is a part of the story and uses I, Me, My, Our, Us
3rd person The narrator is not part of the story and tells she, they , them
3rd omniscient The narrator is not part of the story and tells the story through the eye of the many character

Major Main/Most important character
Protagonist The character that is good
Antagonist The character who is bad
Minor Supporting or extra character
Dynamic character Is a character whose thoughts, attitude, belief change
Static character Is a character who thoughts , attitude, belief change in a story
Hat character Is the one who has only the limited personality trait
Round Character Who has Many personality trait
Indirect characterization The personality of a character is revealed Through the characters thought, comments, and action
Direct characterization The narrator or other character in the story tell the reader about the personality of character
Symbol Something that stands for an represents, something else
Irony The difference between appearance and reality
Foreshadowing Hints about what will happen later in a story
Suspense The quality is a story that keeps you interested
