Color terms

How do you percieve white? when all wavelengths reflect back
How do you percieve black? no light is relfected back
what is hue? color
what are the primary colors? red blue and yellow
what are the secondary colors? violet green and orange
what are the tertiary colors? red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green, yellow-orange, red-orange
what is a saturated color? the colors used on the color wheel
what three groups make up the color wheel? primary, secondary, and tertiary
what is a tint? a saturated color that is mixed with a pure white color
what is a shade a saturated color that is mixed with a pure black color
What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? yellow orange and red
What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? violet green and blue
What are the five neutral colors? black gray tan white and brown
What are the six types of color harmonies? monochromatic, analougus, complementary,triadic, split complementary and neutral
What is a monochromatic color harmony? Colors that are shade or tint variations of the same hue
What is an analougus color harmony? colors located near each other on a color wheel, (neighbors)
What is a complementary color harmony? colors across from each other on the color wheel
What is a triadic color harmony? Three hues equally positioned on a color wheel.
What is a split complementary scheme? one color and two more equally placed from its complement
What is a neutral color scheme? any combination of blacks greys whites browns and tans
