ctyberspace the world that connects comoputers with the internet. when you send an email to friens it goes through cyberspace to reach them.
internet adress just like your home adress, this group of letters and numbers takes oyour computer to a spacific place on the internet
URL (uniforn resource locator) this is just another way to say internet adress.
web sites a place you visit on the internet theat has stuff to see and read. some web sites have fun and useful information, but some are not safe. your parents can help you find goo wbsites
instant messaging mesages uyou can exchange back and forth with a friend through a speacial program. it's like a privet chat room.
chat room a place to talk by typing to the other people in the chat room. but be careful! people are not always who they say they are in chat rooms. never give any personal information or your school to anyone in chat rooms.
email a letter you send through cyberspace. people love email because it's almost instant and does not take any stamps.
bulletin boards or message boards a place on the internet where you can post information for other people to see, usually about a specific topic like the one in your class room or home. remeber , never post your personal information.
username a name that you can pick to use when your on the internet. it identifies you with out telling strangers your real name. parents are really good at choosing usernames
screen name you username in a chat room in a chat room. a screen name should never say who you really are or give any personal information
SPAM junk mail sent to your email box that is usually advertizing something. don't open or respond or SPAM because it can cause problems for your computer.
virus a hidden computer program that sneaks into your compter through email or the internet. viruses can really hhurt your computer and you accidentaly send them onto other people with out even knowing it!
password asecret word that you only know and your parents should know. you use to check your email and log in to web sites. parents are really good helping you remember your passwords.
blog short for web log. a web site where you can post a personal jourlnal.
pop up an ad that pops up on your computer, trying to get you click on it. pop ups are tricks they usually offer something thats sounds great but really
