Color Terms

How do you precieve white? | When all hues are reflected at once. |
How do you precieve black? | When no hues are being reflected. |
What is a hue? | A colors name. |
What are the primary colors? | Blue, Red, Yellow |
What are the secondary colors? | Green, Violet, Orange |
What are the tertiary colors? | Red-Orange, Yellow-Orange, Blue-Violet,Red-Violet Yellow-Green, Blue-Green |
What is a saturated color? | No white or black in a color. |
What three groups make up the color wheel? | Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary |
What is a tint? | Saturated color mixed with a pure white color. |
What is a shade? | Saturated color mixed with black. |
What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? | Orange, Red, Yellow |
What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? | Violet, Blue, Green. |
What are the five neutral colors? | White, Black, Gray, Tan, Brown. |
What are the six types of color harmonies? | Neutral, Monochramatic, Accented Neutral, Split Complimentary, Triadic, Complimentary |
What is a monochromatic color harmony? | Different shades of one hue. |
What is an analougus color harmony? | Three or more colors that are next to eachother on the color wheel. |
What is a complementary color harmony? | Two colors that are directly across from eachother on the color wheel. |
What is a triadic color harmony? | Three colors that are located within equal distance of eachother. |
What is a split complementary scheme? | Using any colors and the two colors next the the colors compliment. |
What is a neutral color scheme? | Any combination of blacks, grays, whites, browns, or tans. |
