Color Terms

| How do you percieve white? | The wavelenghts are reflected back to your eye. |
| How do you percieve black? | No light is reflected to your eye. |
| What is hue? | Hue refers to the color itself. |
| What are the primary colors? | three basic colors thay are used in all of the other colors. these colors are red, blue, and yellow. |
| What are the secondary colors? | three colors that are achieved from equal parts of two primary colors, these colors include violet,green, and orange. |
| What are the tertiary colors? | (intermidite colors) When you mix equal parts of 1 primary and 1 secondary. |
| What is a saturated color? | A color on the color wheel. |
| What three groups make up the color wheel? | Primary, secondary, and tertiary. |
| What is a tint? | A saturated color mixed with pure white color. |
| What is a shade? | A satureated color mixed with pure black color. |
| What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? | Red, orange, and yellow. |
| What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? | Blue, green, and violet. |
| What are the five neutral colors? | Black, grey, white, brown, and tan. |
| What are the six types of color harmonies? | Monochromatic, analogous, complementary, traidic, split complementary, and neautral. |
| What is a monochromatic color harmony? | Using tints and shades of only one color. |
| What is an analougus color harmony? | Using three or more colors thay are next to eachother on color wheel. |
| What is a complementary color harmony? | Two colors that are directly across from eachother on color wheel. |
| What is a triadic color harmony? | Three colors located within equal distance of eachother. |
| What is a split complementary scheme? | Created by using any color and two colors locted next to that colors compliment.(Forms a Y) |
| What is a neutral color scheme? | Any combination of black, greys, whites, browns, and tans. (accented neutral- all neautral with one pop of color) |
