2.What are four primary operations of a computer? Input, processing, output, and storage
3.Describe the difference between data and information. A user inputs data into a computer, and then the computer processes it. When data is modified, or processed, into a meaningful form, it becomes information.
5.Explain cloud computing. In general, cloud computing refers to data, applications, and even resources stored on computers accessed over the Internet - in a "cloud" of computers-rather than on users' computers, and you access only what you need when you need it.
6.List six categories of computers. Embedded computers, mobile devices, personal computers, midrange servers, mainframe, ,computers,and supercomputers.
8.Describe virtualization. One trend involving midrange servers, as well as the mainframe comuters, is virtualization. Virtualization tells computer there is another storage area more operating systems, similiar to partitioning.
9.What are supercomputers? Supercomputrs are the most powerful and most expensive type of computer available. To reduce the cost. they are often built by connecting hundreds of smaller and less expensive comuters into a supercomputing cluster that acts as a single supercomputer.
10.What is a network? A network is a collection of computers and other devices that are connected to share hardware, software, and data.
11.What are the three parts of an email address? An e-mail address consists of a username followed by the @ symbol, followed by the domain name for the computer that will be handling that person's e-mail.
12. Describe computer ethics? Ethics refers to standardards of moral conduct. Ethics with respect to the use of computers are referred to as computer ethics.

1.What is an Internet service provider? Internet service provider (ISP). A business or other organization that provides internet access to others, typically for a fee.The type of device used, the type of internet connection and service desired.
2.What is a webinar? Webinars are similar to web conferences, but typically have a designated presenter and an audience.
4.Why do some people block cookies? Many Web pages today use cookies-small text files that are stored on your hard drive by a Web server-to identify return visitors and their preferences. People block cookies to protect their personal information.
5.What is included in an emal messages header? The email address and the name of the client.
10.What is the history list? Tracks the web pages you visit over a cetain period of time, not just doing a browsing sesssion.
14.What is the difference between replying to an email message and forwarding it? Replying is responding to the email sent to you and forwardind is when you send information that you have receive to someone else

2. What is a bit? A bit is the smallest unit of data that a binary computer can recognize.
3. What is a byte? A byte is eight bits grouped together.
4. What is the main circuit board inside the system unit? The motherboard is the main circuit board inside the system unit.
5.What is the main processing device for a computer? The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a computer chip that performs the calculations and comparisons neede for processing. It also controls the computer's operations.
6. Explain the difference between RAM and ROM? ROM (read only memory) consists of nonvolatile chips that permanently store data or programs. RAM (random access memory) is used to store the essential parts of the operating system while the computer is running,the programs and data that is running
13. List the three types of optical disks? Optical discs are being designed to be read by optical drives, such as CD, DVD, and BD DRIVES, and the type of optical being used must support the type of optical disc being used.
15. Name the most common pointing device. The mouse is the most common pointing device for a desktop computer.

2. Explain multitasking. Multitasking is the ability of an operating system to h ave more than one program (also called a task) open at one time. This is one way computer's operate more efficiently.
4. List the five most popular personal computer operating systems? DOS, Windows, MAC, UNIX, LINUX
11. What does multimedia refer to? Multimedia is any application that contains more than one type of media; often used to refer to audio and video content.
13. What are media players? Media players are programs designed to play audio and video files available via your computer-such as music CD's, downloaded music, or video streamed from the internet.
14. Explain destop publishing? Desktop Publishing refers to using a personal computer to combine and manipulate text and images to create attractive documants that look as if they were created bya professional printer.
