QuestionAnswer
What is typograhy? refers to the style and arrangement or appearance of text.
What is type face? basic design of a character.
What are serif fonts? Have attributes or strokes at the tips of the letters
what are san serif fonts? There are no attributesat the tips of the letters.
what are Ornamental or Decorative typefaces? Designed strictly to catch the eye
what are script typefaces? Appear to have been written by hand with a calligraphy pen or brush
What is font? specific size, weight and style applied to a typeface
Wht are font families? different sizes, weights and variations of a typeface.
what is leading? The vertical spacing between lines of text.
what is kerning? Horizontal spacing between pairs of letters
what is tracking? Horizontal spacing between all of characters in a large block of text.
What is font style? slant, weight and special effects applied to the text.
What is Monospaced Typefaces? Each letter takes up the same amount of space regardless of the letter size.
What is proportional typefaces? The amount of space each character takes up is adjusted to the width of that character.
