| word | deffinition |

| hyperlink | a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document |
| link | see a highlighted and underlined word or phrase on a page on the internet |
| webpage | individual HTML documents |
| website | is a collection of Web pages |
| HTML | language that Web pages are written in. code that websites run on. |
| HTTP | protocol used to transfer data over the World Wide Web |
| HTTPS | but uses a secure socket layer for security purposes |
| Serial port | onnection on PCs that is used for peripherals such as mice, gaming controllers, modems, and older printers |
| parallel port | found on the back of older PCs and is used for connecting external devices such as printers or a scanners |
| USB port | Universal Serial Bus, ost common type of computer port used in today's computers |
| webmaster | the person in charge of maintaining a Web site |
| domain name | identifies an Web site |
| domain suffix | often referred to as a "top-level domain" or TLD |
| encryption | coding or scrambling of information so that it can only be decoded and read by someone who has the correct decoding key |
| log off | disconnects you from your computer/server/site/account access |
| cookie | small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser/ trail |
| login/on | asked to enter your username and password |
| Screen Shot | is a picture taken of your computer's desktop |
| Upload | sending a file from your computer to another system |
| Download | process in which data is sent to your computer |
| Auto Fill Cursor | a thin black cross,place your cursor on the bottom right-hand corner of a cell |
| Select Mode Cursor | thick cross,showing, you are in a normal mode in Excel |
| Click and Drag Cursor | white arrow with a black outline, cutting and pasting, but much quicker. |
| Resizing Cursor | thick black line with two arrows intersecting it,columns, and you get this cursor, you can simply double-click, and Excel will automatically resize your column to fit the text |
