QuestionAnswer
Hyperlink A word, symbol, or image that links to another document.
Link highlighted/underlined word that take you to another website.
Web page An individual HTML document
Website Web site is a collection of Web pages.
HTML Stands for "Hyper-Text Markup Language." This is the language that Web pages are written in.
HTTP Stands for "Hyper Text Transfer Protocol." how data is transferred across the internet.
HTTPS Stands for "Hyper Text Transport Protocol Secure." the same thing as HTTP, but is secure.
Serial port The serial port is a type of connection on PCs that is used for gaming controllers, older printers
Parallel Port pins are lined up in a parallel format.
USB Port Stands for "Universal Serial Bus." Used to connect games, digital camera's, etc.
Webmaster The webmaster is the person in charge of maintaining a Web site.
Domain Name This is the name that identifies an Web site.
Domain Suffix A domain suffix is the last part of a domain name and is often referred to as a "top-level domain" or TLD.
log in/on you provide information that authenticates you as a user.
cookie a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser.
encryption coding of information that can only be read by someone who has the correct decoding key.
log off disconnects your account access from computer/ server/site
Screenshot A screenshot, or screen capture, is a picture taken of your computer's desktop.
Upload sending a file from your computer to another system.
Dowmload process in which data is sent to your computer.
Auto fill Cursor looks like a thin black cross. You can use this cursor to repeat things or fill in a series (such as dates) by simply clicking and dragging.
Select Mode Cursor looks like a thick cross. It is white with a thick black outline
Click and Drag Cursor looks like a white arrow with a black outline.
Resizing Cursor looks like a thick black line with two arrows intersecting it. This cursor is used to change the size of your rows or columns.
