| browser | a software program that allows the user to get online |
| byte | processed by a computer as a unit;the combination of bits used to represent a particular letter, number, or special character. made up of 8 bits |
| bit | the smallest unit of computer data. |
| RAM | random-access memory; temporary storage that helps programs run |
| hard drive | the mechanism that handles the storage of data on the hard disk |
| flash drive | a very small, portable, solid-state hard drive that can be inserted into a USB port for storage and retrieval of data. |
| megabyte | A unit of computer memory or data storage capacity equal to 1,000,000 bytes. |
