Application a computer program or piece of software designed to perform a specific task
Avatar A movable three-dimensional image used to represent somebody in cyberspace
Backup a copy of computer data that is stored
Beta when the software is tested for bugs, crashes, errors, inconsistencies, and any other problems.
Blog a web site containing the writer's or group of writers' own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other Web sites.
Browser a software program that allows the user to find and read encoded documents in a form suitable for display, especially such a program for use on the world Wide web.
Byte a group of bits, usually eight, processed as a single unit of data also the storage space in a memory
Bit comes from the phrase digit which is different than that
RAM Random Access Memory (like short term memory)
Hard drive a rigid disk inside a computer that holds a large quantity of data and programs
Flash drive (Usb) a small plastic device functioning as a disk drive that hold memory
Megabyte (1,000,000) bytes.
Kilobyte a unit of computer data or storage space equivalent to 1000 bytes
Gigabyte a measure of storage capacity a unit of computer data or storage space equivalent one billion bytes
Terabytes One trillion bytes
Processor micro chip or the heart of the computer
Megahertz or MHz a unit of frequency,1 hertz= one cycle per second, one million hertz
Gigahertz or GHz one billion hertz.
Hertz the SI unit of frequency
Clock Speed the rate at which a processor can complete a processing cycle
