Reflexes- PDMS

developmental milestones for reflexes according to the Peabody

Rooting (sucking reflex) Stroke cheek, turns head to that side and makes a sucking motion
Rooting cont'd emerges at 7mon gestation, integrates at 3mon after birth
Moro (startle reflex) child's head is dropped back a bit, causing the arms to extend and then flex
Moro cont'd present at birth, starts ti disappear around 5-6mon
Grasp holding of an object
Grasp cont'd emerges at birth, integrates at 4-6mon
ATNR in supine position, head turns to one side with face side extension and back of head side flexion.
ATNR cont'd emerges at birth, integrates at 4-6mon.
STNR when supported in prone on adomen position in an attempt to crawl, infant extends head, arms, & neck and bends knees
STNR cont'd emerges at 4-6 mon, integrates at 8- 12mon and disappears when the infant can actively crawl
