| Word | meaning |

| Bleeds | Design that places a graphic or color so that it extends to the edge of the paper leaving no visible margins. |
| Column | one of two or more vertical sections of typed lines lying side by side on a page and separated by a rule or a blank space. |
| Footer | Repetitive text that appears at the bottom of pages in a publication. |
| Form | A document usually contains blank spaces for answers or information to be inserted. |
| Header | identifiying text that appears at the top of pages in a publication |
| Index | an alphabetical listing of key words, phrases, or topics that includes the page numbers on which those items are found within a publication. |
| Master Pages | Pages that contain reoccurring items such as page numbers as well as other desig elements |
| Row | one of two or more horizontal sections of typed lines lying above or below each other on apge and separated by a rule or a blank space |
| Style | a named grouped of character and paragraph format that can be applied to text |
| Table | a method for organizing information both horizontally (in rows) and vertically (in colomns |
| Table of contents | a listing of the major entries in a publication |
| Template | a publication that can be used as a 'mondel'for the creation of new documents. |
