Hallmarks and differential diagnoses

All modalities severly affected, including repetition. Global aphasia
Difficulty planning and executing expressive language. Repetition impaired at word to phrase level. Broca's aphasia

Hallmark is spared repetition at the sentence level and beyond. Transcortical Sensory
Posterior lesion typically spares upper extremity motor status; Pt able to write with dominant hand. Repetition impaired at word to phrase level. Wernicke's Aphasia
Hallmark is severe to profound deficits in repetition and oral reading with other language modalities relative strengths. Conduction Aphasia
