| Question | Answer |

| Clipboard | A location in memory used as a temporary storage location. located on the home tab has icons used to cut,paste, copy text. |
| Copy | Places a copy of the selected text on the clipboard |
| Cut | Removes the selected text from the document and places a copy on clipbord |
| Default | Program settings used unti/unless you change it |
| Dialog Box Launcher | Small arrows next to a group name. Used to open new dialog with additional options for that group |
| Formatting/Non-Printing Marks | Document indicators used to troubleshoot formatting, such as the paragraph mark. these marks do not print. |
| Group | Icons on the ribbon are organized by the function they perform. similar to functions appear on a tab as part of a group. |
| Icon | A graphic symbol used to represent a command. |
| Insertion Point | Where items will appear when placed into a document. |
| Move | to drag or drop selected text to another location in a document |
| Paragraph | Any combination of characters and spaces between two paragraphs marks. |
| Paste | Inserts the contents of the clipboard at the insertion point |
| Quick Access Tool Bar | a shortcut to common commands, You can customize which commands appear. |
| Ribbon | the panel on the top portion of a word document to organize all commands under tabs based on what function they perform |
| Save/Save As | Save stores your changes, Save as allows you to move and rename the file, so you retain a copy o the original. |
| Screen Tips | a descriptive label that appears when you position the mouse pointer over an icon that indicates what the command will do to your document. |
| Select | To highlight, indicating which text should be formatted. |
| Template | a prefomatted document used to quickly create various types of common files. |
| Word | Any combination of characters between two spaces |
| Word Wrap | a data entry feature that automatically wraps a long line of text around to the beginning of the next line. |
