Bit Smallest unit of information a computer handles
Megabyte Approximately one million bytes
Gigabyte Approximately one billion bytes
Output Information that a computer creates as a result of its processing
CPU The part of the computer where the arithmetic and logical operations are performed
Cell The rectangular area in a spreasheet or database where data is inputted
Cell Value Actual numeric value of data in a cell
Drag A verb describing the movement of the mouse or cursor

Tab A keyboard function that advances the cursor to a preset location

Margin The blank area that frames a document
Spreadsheet Application software set up in rows and columns designed to do math equations and graphs

Line Spacing A format command in application software that identify/changes the spacing between lines of type
Letter Size A paper length that is used for letters and other correspondence
Landscape The paper position that is wider than it is long
Keyboard A hardware device with multiple keys/buttons used to input data into a computer
Internet The large international network of computers which host websites
Insert To enter data or a data file within a document or within text
Homepage The first page that comes up when you connect to the internet or an internet site
Points The measure used in determining size of a character used in text
Typeface The appearance of the font
Minimize To make a window as small as possible
Maximize A windows software feature that makes a window take over the whole screen or become as large as possible
LAN Local Area Network, a network of computers within a building or buildings
