Soda Quiz In this unit, a short quiz before the lesson to get you thinking about what you already know and what you might learn.
Web Browsers Safari, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox - programs that access the internet
URL Uniform Resource Locator - an address used to find information on the internet or world-wide web
Search Engines Google, Yahoo!, Bing and Ask - programs that search the internet
Hyper-link Text or graphic that when clicked jumps the viewer to a different location or program
Pop-up A window that comes up on your computer screen without you requesting it - often contains advertising
Spam Unsolicited electronic mail or text messages simultaneously sent to a number of e-mail addresses or cell phones
Unsolicited You didn't ask for it or want it - not sought after
Navigation Buttons In a search engine, move you backwards and forwards through web pages that you have visited
Bookmarks Digital placeholders that allow you to return easily to a program, website or place in an electronic document
Reload or Refresh Button Pulls a page back up or re-boots it. This often solves loading problems
Home Button Re-directs your web browser to a site that you have selected as your home page
Search Box Connects your Web Browser to a Search Engine in the tool bar, menu, or ribbon of the browser
Close Button Closes the current window or tab of a browser
