GGTP

QuestionAnswer
What is the significance of the GGTP test? it shows diseases that are associated with the liver, pancreas or bile ducts
What type of specimen is used for this test? blood sample is taken from a vein on the forearm or hand
What are the norman results for men and women? men- 2 to 30 U/L women- 1 to 24 U/L
What do the low levels indicate? decreased levels of GGTP can signal a deficiency
What does GGTP stand for? Gamma-glutamyltransferase
What is another abbreviation? GGT
What do high levels indicate? Increased levels of GGTP are often associated with systemic lupus, hyperthyroidism and cirrhosis of the liver
