Tables Vocabulary

Ms. Beetstra's 8th Grade Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
Data The text/information within a table (doesn't include title or column headings)
Row Information displayed horizontally
Column Information displayed vertically
Cell The box created by the intersection fo columns and rows
Gridlines The black lines that outline the table
Merge To combine two or more cells
Vertical Alignment Allows you to changed where the data sits within a cell; options are top, center, and bottom
Horizontal Alignment Allows you to change wher the data sits; options include left, center, right
Sort Data can automatically be sorted alphabetically (A-Z) in an ascending order, or Z-A in a descending order. This works for numbers as well.
