National Banks Banks chartered and/or licensed by the federal government.
State Banks Banks chartered and/or licensed by the state government.
Wildcat banking Banks were located in remote areas,bank notes worth less outside of region; questionable quality.
Gold Standard A system where a basic monetary unit is backed by a set amount of gold.
Bank Any financial institution that accepts deposits and makes loans. Helps individuals, businesses, and gov manage money.
Commercial Bank A financial institution that provides a variety of financial services: Loans, checking & savings accounts, financial advice, safety deposit boxes, etc.
