TermDefinition
filename a unique name given to a file on a computer, usually containing a name, a dot, and an extension
extension the last part of a filename that gives a computer information about the contents of the file
case-sensitive an indication that the capitalization within a name is very important
directory an organization of files on your computer (same as 'folder')
folder and organization of files on your computer (same as 'directory')
path a text representation of the folder structure and filenames
file explorer the program in the Windows operating system that will graphically display all folders on a computer
finder the program in the MacOS operating system that will graphically display all folders on a computer
ZIP file contains a compressed version of one or more files and folders
unzip to restore or extract a ZIP file to the original file or directory structure on a storage device
