CSS A programming language that allows coders to change the appearance of webpage elements and layout
attribute Extra information added inside an HTML tag to define its behavior or metadata
property The actual CSS styling rules you apply to change the layout or visual appearance of an element
value The exact setting, behavior, or measurement you assign to a CSS styling rule
property-value pair The combination of a CSS styling rule you want to change and the exact setting you want to change it to
style=”font-family:...” CSS styling applied to HTML text, changes the font
style=”color:...” CSS styling applied to HTML text, changes the text color
style=”font-size:__px;” CSS styling applied to HTML text, changes the text size
style=”background-color:...” CSS styling applied to an area, changes the background color of what it's applied to
style="text-align:left-center-right;" CSS styling that aligns the HTML text it's applied to
style= CSS attribute that lets you change the appearance of an element
src= CSS attribute that lets you point to a source file, often for an image
alt= CSS attribute that lets you display text as an alternative for when an image doesn't appear or for screen readers
href= CSS attribute that lets you point to a URL or web address--also known as a hypertext reference, usually for a link
target="_blank" CSS attribute that lets you target where a link will open, forcing the creation of a new browser tab
<span></span> an HTML tag that lets CSS styling be applied to certain specific words, rather than whole blocks of text
