| Bartholin’s Glands | female reproductive structure; located within the cervix and near the vaginal opening and provide lubrication for the vagina |
| Bulbourethral Glands | male reproductive structure; globular glands located at the base of the penis which come together to form a duct opening into the urethra and secretes a clear fluid prior to ejaculation |
| Cervix | female reproductive tissue connecting the vagina and uterus which is responsible for directing sperm to the uterus and holding the fetus in the uterus during fetal development |
| Clitoris | female reproductive structure; receptive organ located where the labia minora meet at the front of the vulva |
| Epididymis | male reproductive structure; convoluted tube which stores sperm until it reaches maturity, then transports it from the testes to the vas deferens |
| Fallopian Tubes | female reproductive organ; attach to the uterus and ovaries and serve as the site for fertilization |
| Labia Majora | female reproductive structure; two folds of skin separated by the mons pubis which surround the rest of the vulva |
| Labia Minora | female reproductive structure; two smaller folds of skin located in the pudendal cleft within the labia majora |
| Mons Pubis | female reproductive structure; fatty tissue which covers the pubic bone |
| Ovaries | female reproductive organ; store all female oocytes, as well as produce ovum and female hormones, estrogen and progesterone |
| Penis | male organ for sexual intercourse and urination |
| Pudendal Cleft | female reproductive structure; crevice amid the labia majora which contains the other structures of the vulva |
| Prostate Gland | male reproductive structure; surrounds the urethra directly below the bladder and secretes fluids contributing to semen composition |

| Scrotum | male reproductive structure; regulates temperature of the testes to promote sperm production |
| Seminal Vesicles | male reproductive structure; glands located behind the bladder which secrete fluids contributing to semen composition |

| Uterus | female reproductive organ which houses a developing fetus, serves as a pathway for sperm from the cervix to the fallopian tubes, and produces vaginal and uterine secretions |
| Vagina | female reproductive structure; opening responsible for sexual intercourse and childbirth |
| Vas Deferens | male reproductive structure; tube to transport semen from the epididymis to the urethra |
| Endocrine System | body system which sends hormones throughout the body |
| Estrogen | hormone responsible for reproduction and regulation; contributes to preparing the body for pregnancy |
| Gestation | period between when an egg is fertilized and a baby is born |
| Hormones | chemical messengers which travel throughout the body to regulate various cell functions |
| Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HcG) | hormone which triggers increased production of estrogen and progesterone during pregnancy |
| Luteinizing Hormone (LH) | hormone released from the brain responsible for controlling the menstruation cycle, the release of an egg from the uterus, or producing testosterone and sperm |
| Menopause | phase which occurs 12 months after the last menstruation cycle in which estrogen levels decrease |
| Menstruation | monthly cycle of an unfertilized egg being released and the walls of the uterus thickening and shedding |
| Progesterone | hormone involved in menstruation and pregnancy |
| Puberty | fastest time for growth as reproductive hormones are released to facilitate major changes in the body |
| Reproductive System | system composed of anatomical organs used for sexual reproduction |
| Testosterone | hormone responsible for reproductive functions and changes to the testes, hair growth, deepening of voice, and increases in bone and muscle mass |
