Altiplano The high-altitude, treeless plateau in western Bolivia that is home to La Paz and Lake Titicaca.
Salar de Uyuni The world's largest salt flat, located in Bolivia's Potosí department and rich in lithium.
Lithium The mineral found in estimated quantities of nine million tons within the Salar de Uyuni.
Lake Titicaca The highest navigable lake in the world, located on the border between Bolivia and Peru.
Yungas Road The infamous "Death Road" in Bolivia, known as the most dangerous road in the world.
Simón Bolívar The revolutionary leader and "person" for whom the country of Bolivia is named.
Santa Cruz The largest city in Bolivia, located in the eastern lowlands and serving as an economic center.
Oruro Carnival A major cultural festival in Bolivia featuring the "Diablada" or Dance of the Devils.
Wiphala The multicolored, square-patterned flag that serves as an official national symbol of Bolivia.
Cerro Rico The "Rich Hill" in Potosí that was the primary source of silver for the Spanish Empire.
Eduardo Avaroa A national fauna reserve in Bolivia featuring the Laguna Colorada and stone formations.
Potosí The high-altitude city that was once the world's primary source of silver.
Aymara One of the major indigenous ethnic groups in Bolivia, predominantly inhabiting the Altiplano.
