Nullarbor Plain The vast, treeless limestone plain that contains the world's longest straight stretch of railway.
Cape York Peninsula The large peninsula in northern Queensland that is home to the Indigenous Torres Strait Islander people.
Swan River The river on which the city of Perth was founded, originally naming the Swan River Colony.
Great Barrier Reef The world's largest coral reef system, located in the Coral Sea off the coast of Queensland.
Tasmanian Devil The carnivorous marsupial endemic to the island of Tasmania, currently endangered by a facial tumor disease.
Alice Springs The major town in the Northern Territory that serves as the gateway to the Red Centre and Uluru.
Great Dividing Range The extensive mountain system and rock formation that separates Australia's east coast from the interior.
Dingo The wild canine of Australia that is kept out of southern sheep-farming areas by a massive fence.
