Understand importance of anti-virus software usage Antivirus software protects your computer by detecting and removing malware, safeguarding information, and maintaining performance. It defends against viruses, ransomware, spyware, adware, and trojans.
Understand firewalls and basic settings Firewalls protect networks by controlling and monitoring connections for unauthorized access and malicious activity. They use rules based on IP addresses, ports, protocols, and applications.
Identify e-commerce interactions and best purchasing practices E-commerce lets you browse and buy online. To stay safe, verify website security, buy from trusted sellers, use a credit card, and shop on private Wi-Fi to protect your information.
Define virtual private networks (VPNs) A virtual private network (VPN) creates an encrypted connection over insecure networks, hiding your activity, protecting your data, and keeping your IP address private.
