Understand local data backup and restore functions You can use Windows Backup, DPM, or Backup Assist. To back up files, pick the files or folders, choose a destination and backup type. To restore, select the backup and click “Restore.”
Differentiate use of backup (find a lost file) and restore (fix settings) Backing up files creates copies on external drives for safety. Restoring files retrieves those copies to recover lost data.
Understand steps to complete a full system restore on a personal device On Windows 10, use System Restore from Control Panel and pick a working date. On macOS, use Time Machine, select a backup date, and restore to Macintosh HD.
Understand ways to transfer files, attachments, links, shared folders, and compressed files To transfer files, first download them to your device. Then click the upload option, select the files, attachments, links, or folders, and click “Open.”
