What is zero compression? When you have consecutive fields of zeros, they can be expressed with two colons. Can only do this once.
What is leading zero compression? Leading zeros in any block can be dropped, but only if one number is remaining.
How can this be written: 1234:0000:1234:0000:1234:0000:0123:1234 ? 1234:0:1234:0:1234:0:123:1234
What is a Global Unicast Address? Are similar to IPv4 public address and are fully routable and can be used for internet access.
What is IPv6 loopback address? 0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001 or 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1 or ::1
How do you know what a private IPv6 address will look like? Any address that starts: 1111:1110:1
Convert the following IP: ::D190:4E71 D1=209 90=144 4E=78 71=113 209.144.78.113
What does an IPv6 multicast IP look like? Any address that begins with: 1111:1111 or FF in hex. FF00::/8
What are the 2 types of autoconfiguration? Stateless and stateful.
What is stateful autoconfiguration? It is used when the host obtains an IPv6 address and other info from a server. It is DHCPv6
What is stateless autoconfiguration? A local host is able to create its own link-local address.
How do you enable IPv6 routing capabilities on a router? From global configuration mode: ipv6 unicast-routing
