Resting Membrane Potential (RMP) The membrane potential maintained by a nonconducting neuron's plasma membrane
Cerebrospinal Fluid Occurs by separation of fluid from blood in the choroid plexus
Spinal Cord Provides conduction routes to and from the brain
Receptor potential The potential that develops when adequate stimulus acts on a receptor, it's a graded response
Adaption Receptor potential decreases over time in response to a continued stimulus, which leads to a decreased rate of impulse conduction and a decreased intensity of sensation
Albumins Help maintain osmotic balance of the blood
Globulins Essential component of the immunity mechanism
Fibrinogen Key role in blood clotting
Lymphokinesis The movement (flow) of lymph, can be visualized in a lymphangiogram
Mastication Chewing movements
Deglutition Process of swallowing; complex process requiring coordinated and rapid movements
