ICT L3 Glossary

TermDefinition
Crosstalk Interference between adjacent pairs of wires within the same cable.
Bandwidth The maximum data rate a medium can handle, typically measured in bits per second (bps).
Attenuation The loss of signal strength over distance
EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) External noise that degrades electrical signals in copper cables from other EM sources
RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) External noise that degrades electrical signals in copper cables from other RF sources
