QuestionAnswer
What are the 4 Basic Components of Control System ? 1: Sensor Mechanism 2: Integrator Mechanism 3: Effector Mechanism 4: Feedback
What are the 4 major groups of organic substances ? 1: Carbohydrates 2: Lipids 3: Proteins 4: Nucleic acids and related molecules
What are carbohydrates and what do they do? Carbohydrates provide the chemical energy that is needed by every body cell. They also serve a structural function as components of such critically important molecules RNA and DNA.
What are the classification of lipids? Triglycerides (Fats), Phospholipids, steroids, and Prostaglandins.
What is Passive Processes? They do not require any energy or "Activity" of the cell membrane, the particles move by using energy they already have.
What is Active Processes? They do require the expenditure of metabolic energy by the cell. The transport particles are actively " Carried" across the membrane.
What is the role of active transport Processes? They include any mechanism that moves substances across a membrane using cellular energy, giving the membrane an active role in the transport.
What is a double spiral also referred to as? Double Helix
Pairing of A-T, C-G is called? Obligatory Base
What is does editing the transcript mean? It "edits" the message into a final version before it reaches a ribosome.
Facilitated diffusion is not an active transport process because it? Does not depend on cell energy
What part of the cell does Glycolysis occur? Cytoplasm
The Hair Follicles is found in what ? Dermis
The Hair Papilla consists in what tissue? Dermal
What are the 3 primary Germ layers? 1: Endoderm 2: Mesoderm 3: Ectoderm
What is Extracellular? Fluid in this environment fills the spaces between the cells of the body, tissues differ in the amount of fluid material between the cells.
Where is Hematopoietic tissue found? Bones
What are 3 phrases of the Twitch Contraction? 1: Latent Period 2: Contraction Phrase 3: Relaxation Phrase
Synarthrotic Joints are? Immovable
what type of muscle is responsible for Peristalsis? Single- unit smooth
what type of muscles do not have T tubule? Smooth
What is Isometric Contraction? It is a contraction in which muscle length remains the same but muscle tension increases.

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
