What is homeostasis? The body's ability to maintain a stable internal environment and function properly despite external changes
What are the two feedback loops? Negative and Positive
Which feedback loop is stimulatory? Positive feedback loop
What is efferent? signal traveling away from center
what is the end result of a negative feedback loop? to rebalance the beginning setpoint
what is afferent? signal traveling toward center
what is the integrator? the control center where it receives input from sensors
what is the effectors role? carries out the response to stimulus
what is feed forward? information flowing ahead to another process to trigger a change in anticipation of an event that will follow
what are the basic components of homeostasis? sensor mechanism, integrator, effector, feedback
