Formatting Text
| Term | Definition |

| Formatted Text | Draws the reader's attention to specific parts of the document or emphasizes important information. |
| Ribbon | Stretches across the top of Microsoft Word, and organizes commands into tabs and groups. |
| Font | A specific style applied to text that changes the character look; examples: Times New Roman and Ariel. |
| Font Color | This command applies color to the text |
| Font Size | Increases or decreases the size of the text. |
| Ctrl + B | This keyboard shortcut will bold the text. |
| Ctrl + U | This keyboard shortcut will Underline the text. |
| Ctrl + I | This keyboard shortcut will italicize the text. |
| Change Case | This command quickly changes the text to uppercase, lowercase, sentence case, or capitalize each word. |
| Text Highlight | This command applies color around and behind the text as a highlighter would. |
| Left Align | By default, Word aligns text to this alignment. |
| Align Center | Aligns text to the center of the page |
