QuestionAnswer
Auhority The formally granted influence of an individual to make decisions pursue goals and obtain the resources necessary to spport thoss decision and goals.
Chain of command The flow of authority within an organizan also called line of command
Communication An exchange of information in which the words and gestures are understood in the same way by both the speaker and the listener
Delgation Assigning tasks to subordinates
Division of labor Dividing a large jobinto units or job tasks and assigning an individual to do each oof the tasks
Divional structure An organizational design in which the firm is broken down into units according to factos such as product process territory customer type etc
Fuctinal structure An orgganizational design in which the firm is broken into traditional departments each with its own set of responsibilities and actives
Innovation The creation or discivery of something new such as a new product,strtegy or process
Job specialization Becming an expert n a specific work task
Lateral relatons The amount of temwork included in an organizational design
Line authority Formal direct authority that affects a business day to day operations
Matrix structure An organizational design that combines the trditional functioal structure with the divisional structure

Organizational chart A graphical representation of the flowof authority withthin an orgsnzation
