Color Terms

How do you percieve white? Clean,neat, basic and plain.
How do you percieve black? Dark and formal.
What is hue? Hue refers to the color itself. Each different hue is a different reflected wavelength of light.
What are the primary colors? Red ,Blue, and Yellow.
What are the secondary colors? Violet, Green and Orange.
What are the tertiary colors? Red-violet,Blue-violet,Blue-green,Yellow-green,Yellow-orange,and Red-orange.
What is a saturated color? A color that has no white or black in them.
What three groups make up the color wheel? Primary colors, Secondary colors, and Tertiary colors.
What is a tint? A saturated color that is mixed with pure white color.( The more white that you add to a saturated color, the lighter the color will become. )
What is a shade? A saturated color that is mixed with pure black color. ( The more black that you add to a saturated color the darker the color will become. )
What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? Red,Orange, and Yellow.
What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? Blue,Green and Violet.
What are the five neutral colors? Black,Grey,White,Brown and Tan.
What are the six types of color harmonies? Monochromatic,Analogous,Complementary,Triadic, Split Complementary and Neutral.
What is monochromatic color harmony? They are achieved by using tints and shades of only one color.
What is an analougus color harmony? Done by using three or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
What is a complementary color harmony? Two colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel.
What is a triadic color harmony? Three colors that are located within equal distance of each other.
What is a split complementary scheme? This is created by using any color and the two colors located next to that colors complement.
What is a neutral color scheme? Any combonation of blacks,greys,whites,browns,and tans.
