Alignment arranges lines of text horizontally between the left and right margins of the document
Arrow Keys moves the cursor in the direction of the arrow displayed on the key allowing for document navigation
Backspace Key used to remove text to the left of the insertion point
Bold changes the weight of the characters
Capitalization changes the characters to lowercase, uppercase or title case
Caps Lock Key toggle key which capitalizes letters when it is turned on
Center Alignment centers text between the right and left margins
Clipboard temporary storage area where all cut and copied text or objects are stored for future use
Cloud Storage global network of servers which operate through the internet; used for storing and sharing files
Copy makes a duplicate of the selected text and places it on the clipboard, leaving the selection in its original location
Cursor black blinking line in the document highlighting the insertion point
Cut removes the selected text from the document and places it on the clipboard
Delete key used to remove text to the right of the insertion point
Desktop Publishing act of using a computer and software program to produce a professional publication containing text, images, charts and other visual components
Drawing Tool used to add, edit and apply formats to floating objects
Emailing process of sending an electronic message through the internet using an email service
Enter Key moves the cursor to the next line
First Line Indent indents only the first line from the left margin

Indents increase or decrease the amount of space between text and the margins
Infographics publication which combines information and graphics to create a visual representation of a topic
Insertion Point location where the text will appear on the document
Italic slants the characters
Justified Alignment aligns text to run evenly between the left and right margin
Landscape Orientation displays the document horizontally
Left Alignment aligns text flush with the left margin
Line and Paragraph Spacing changes the amount of vertical space between lines or groups of text
Links text or graphics which have been connected to another location
Margins white space separating the text from the edge of the page
Mask Image Tool tool used to configure an image in a shape format
Menu Bar displays drop down menus with various commands to be used when creating and editing a document
Newsletter publication used to communicate and provide updated information
Orientation direction of the page layout in which a document is viewed or printed
Page Layout arrangement of the document on the page
Paint Format tool which copies the text formatting applied to text and pastes it to a new selection of text
Paste moves the text from the clipboard into the document where the cursor is located
Portrait Orientation displays the document vertically
Printing process of sending a document to a printer to produce a paper copy of the document
Redo restores an action which was reversed using the Undo command
Right Alignment aligns text flush with the right margin
Saving process of storing a file on a storage device to be available for future use
Shapes objects which can be added to documents such as circles, arrows, starbursts, etc.
Sharing process of allowing other users to view, comment or edit a file
Shift Keys capitalize a letter when pressed at the same time with the letter
Shortcut Keys combinations which perform common commands when pressed; used in the place of a mouse to increase productivity and save time

Soft Column Break automatic start to a new column when the current column is full
Spelling and Grammar Check editing tool used to check the document for spelling and grammatical errors
Strikethrough places a line through the characters

Subscript lowers the characters
Superscript elevates the characters
Table grid of horizontal rows and vertical columns into which data can be entered to organize data
Tab used to indent a single line of text a half inch increments when the cursor is placed at the left margin of the document
