Auhority The formally granted influence of an indivdual to make decisions pursure goals and obtain the resources neccessary to support thoesr decisions and goals.
Chain of command The flow of authority withtin an organization
Departmentalization The way deprtment are defined and arrangers
Divisinal of labor The proccess of dividing a large ob into units o job task and assigning an individual to do each other of the task
Functinonal structure An oganizational design in which the firm is broken into traditional departments each with its own set of responsibilities and activites
Matrix structure An organizatinol design that combines the traditional functional structure with the divisonal structure
Organizational chart A graphical representation of the flow of authority withtin the organization
Organizing The management function of setting u the way the business work will be done
Organizational structure The company configuration of employees for accomplishing specific business task how the business is organized
Scalar principle Creating authority that flows in a clear continous line
Span of control The measurement of how many workers are supervised by one manager
Specialization An employee narrow focus on one task or area of expertise
Unity of command A principle that states that no employeee should anser to more than one supervisor at a time
