Vagus nerve (X) -Motor: elevates the velum for occlusion of the nasopharynx
Hypo glossal nerve (XII) -motor: supplies the intrinsic and extrinsic tongue muscles
Accessory (XI) supplies muscles that control the head position
Trigeminal Nerve (CN V) anterior 2/3 of the tongue ( touch, not taste)
Trigeminal Nerve (CN V) bolus position in oral cavity
Trigeminal Nerve (CN V) -motor: mastication
Trigeminal Nerve (CN V) helps the hyoid bone up and forward (floor of the mouth)
Facial nerve ( CN VIII) -Motor: muscles of the facial expressions including lips
Facial nerve ( CN VIII) salivation (visceral motor)
Glossal pharyngeal nerve (CN IX) -motor: elevates the pharynx via the stylopharyngeus muscle.
Glossal pharyngeal nerve (CN IX) soft palate
Vagus nerve (X) larynx
Vagus nerve (X) pharynx
Vagus nerve (X) esophagus
Vagus nerve (X) pharyngeal constrictors
Vagus nerve (X) relaxes the cricopharyngeal muscles
Vagus nerve (X) supplies muscles of the airway,
Vagus nerve (X) closure and automatic supply to the esophagus.
Vagus nerve (X) Helps retract the base of tongue via the pharyngeal plexus
Hypo glossal nerve (XII) bolus propulsion

Glossal pharyngeal nerve (CN IX) Helps coordinate the pharyngeal constrictors.
