desktop the background on the window, menu, and dialog boxes of the computer (it's supposed to represent a desk)
link an underlined word or phrase that allows your to "jump" to a new website
icon represents a file, object or program on the hard drive or desktop
download receiving data over the internet
mouse a tool used to move the cursor and pointer around the screen
hard drive a place on the computer where all of the information is stored
CPU (central processing unit) the computers brain that carries out all of the instructions
Highlight choosing a part of a document by clicking and dragging over it with the mouse
