QuestionAnswer
What is the primary function of the respiratory system? To supply oxygen to the blood and remove carbon dioxide from the body.
What is tidal volume? The amount of air inhaled or exhaled during a normal breath.
Which organ is the main control center for body temperature regulations? The hypothalamus.
What is the difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure? Systolic is the pressure when the heart contracts; diastolic is the pressure when the heart relaxes.
What is the main function of the nephron? To filter blood and urine.
What does the SA node do in the heart? Acts as the heart's natural pacemaker, initiating eletrical impulses.
What is homeostasis? The body's ability to maintain a stable internal environment despite external changes.
Which hormone regulates the reabsorption of water in the kidneys? Antidiuretic hormone (ADH)
What is the function of hemoglobin? To carry oxygen from the lungs to tissues and transport carbon dioxide back to the lungs
What is the primary role of the biocarbonate buffer system? To help maintain the body's PH by neutralizing excess acids or bases in the blood.
