Resource Something used to achieve an objective, like raw materials or employees.
Delegation Process by which managers transfer authority and responsibility downward.
Departmentalization Grouping individuals into departments and departments into organizations.
Functional Departmentalization Grouping by common skills and work tasks.
Divisional Departmentalization Grouping by product, program, or geographical location.
Matrix Departmentalization Combines functional and divisional approaches.
Team Departmentalization Organized to accomplish specific tasks.
Network Departmentalization Independent departments provide functions for a central core.
Functional Authority Formal power over a specific subset of organizational activities.
Staff Authority Advisory power without command responsibility.
