What is homeostasis? refers to stability, balance, or equilibrium within a cell or the body. It is an organism’s ability to keep a constant internal environment.
What are the four main types of biomolecules? carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids
What is the first phase of cell reproduction? prophase
What is the third phase of cell reproduction? metaphase
In which phase of cell reproduction do centromeres split in two? anaphase
What are tissues? group of similar cells that perform a common function
What are the 3 germ layers? ectoderm, mesoderm, endoderm
What are 2 highly adapted types of connective tissues that make up the skeleton? bone and cartilage
What is another name for joint and what is it? articulation; point of contact between bones
What is the olecranon process? the bony prominence of the ulna at the elbow. It's the part you feel as the tip of your elbow.
