| Skin | The largest organ of the human body, acting as a protective barrier against the external environment |
| Skeletal structure | A structural framework for the body, enabling movement, protecting vital organs, and storing essential minerals |
| Myosin | A protein that forms the contractile filaments of muscle cells and is also involved in motion in other types of cells. |
| Actin | A crucial protein found in all eukaryotic cells, playing a vital role in cell structure, movement, and division. |
| Homeostasis | The process by which living organisms maintain a stable internal environment despite changes in external conditions |
| Impulse | a rapid, temporary change in the electrical potential across a neuron's cell membrane that transmits information throughout the nervous system |
| sarcoplasmic reticulum | an action potential, a rapid electrical signal that travels along the sarcolemma and into the T-tubules |
