TermDefinition
Convergence when more than one presynaptic axon synapses with a single postsynaptic neuron.
Divergence when a single presynaptic axon synapse with many different postsynaptic neurons.
Anosmia Complete lack of smell.
Extrinsic Eye Muscles Skeletal muscles that attach to the outside of the eyeball and to the bones of the orbit.
Intrinsic Eye Muscles smooth, involuntary muscles located within the eye.
Adenohypophysis Anterior portion of the pituitary gland.
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Promotes and maintains the growth and development of the thyroid
Hemodynamics A collection of mechanisms that influence the active and changing circulation of blood.
Digestion A group of processes that breaks complex nutrients into simpler ones.
Absorption Movement of digested nutrients through the gastrointestinal (GI) mucosa and into the internal environment.
