| Resistance | opposition to blood flow, mainly due to friction |
| Friction | Opposition to flow in blood vessels, influenced by vessel dimensions. |
| Blood Viscosity | Internal resistance to flow, influenced by cellular and solute content |
| Polycythemia | Condition increasing blood viscosity due to elevated red blood cell count |
| Dehydration | Condition increasing blood viscosity due to reduced fluid volume |
| Blood pressure | Force per unit area on blood vessel walls. |
| Pulse pressure | Difference between systolic and diastolic pressure. |
| Radial pulse | Pulse taken at the wrist for monitoring. |
| Blood volume | Total amount of blood in the circulatory system. |
| Hypothalamus | Brain region involved in stress response and blood pressure regulation |
| Epinephrine | Hormone increasing heart rate and vasoconstriction. |
| Norepinephrine | Hormone increasing heart rate and vasoconstriction. |
